Romping In A Storage Lock Up!

CHEATING lovers have found their ideal hideaway for illicit sex – self- storage lock-ups.

The unromantic venues, often on industrial estates, are being used by couples as a secure place to meet. The units, with their own keys and guaranteed privacy, can give lovers time together for much less than the cost of a hotel room.

Bosses found people regularly using lock-ups for sex, according to trade website storage.co.uk.

A spokesman for Lok’Store, with outlets in south-east England, said one of its units in Hampshire has been used like a cut-price hotel.

He said: “We had a couple who rented space, visited it regularly, but never filled up. This is taking the big friendly storage company theme to an extreme.”

A small unit measuring about 10ft by 5ft can be rented for about £60 a month, far less than even the most basic hotel.

Owners who don’t want their spaces to be used for loving are being warned to keep an eye out for units containing just a basic mattress.

But a manager at one London storage company said: “I suppose we’d turn a blind eye, though it’s hardly going to be comfortable, is it?”
