We had a great day out at The London Alternative Market on Sunday we met up with old friends that we had not seen for some time and made some new friends too. 

The London Alternative Market is a monthly event held in London on The Albert Embankment.  You will find a great mix of people and a variety of stalls for fetish clothing, bondage equipment, implements of torture, violet wands, bespoke leather wear and more. A great friendly atmosphere with a bar and a hot food and snacks cafe upstairs perfect for socialising.

Wow what an excellent night; this Gothic/Fetish club really knows how to put on a  night to remember.  They staged it at The Coliseum Vauxhall and as you enter you are automatically entered into a free prize draw with plenty of prizes. Everyone is always friendly and welcoming, no bouncers with attitude on the door.   

As you reach the top of the stairs the Chinese food cooking makes you feel hungry, always a nice touch at the Antichrist events! The place was buzzing and busy, everyone really enters into the spirit of the night and Halloween was a perfect theme for this Gothic/Alternative crowd. 

The first people we saw were a group of guys and girls who were all together dressed like zombies white-faced black eyes clothes covered in blood stains cut throats very gory – all fake of course!   There were another couple of zombies who had taken it very seriously dressed in brown dusty looking clothes like they had just crawled out of a grave and one was leading the other around on a chain but they kept to their staggered zombie style walk all night long, some people get into it more than others.  

As we walked through the corridors we bumped into a very creepy stilt walker who bent down to say hello wearing a mask covered in boils an veins he was accompanied by a very tall rabbit very weird!   There were several brides of Frankenstein dressed beautifully in really impressive pure white bridal dresses with blood splashes across them.   There was a headless horseman dressed in riding gear zipped up right over his head to make it appear that he had no head because he was carrying a head under his arm!  Not including the occasional totally naked person outfits ranged from Priests, Nun’s, Angels of Death, Chuckie’s, Vampires, Devils, Monsters, Monks, Midgets and Rockers in wheel chairs most with a fetish,sexy edge, a real weird and wonderful mix. If the people alone were not enough to keep you entertained the stage shows were great too with various groups and acts including Sigue Sigue Sputnik who were a British new wave band created in 1982 for those of you not old enough to remember and Inertia an Industrial techno electro band  really good, also stage shows from angle grinders and fire eaters, all very entertaining.

The D.J. Callum Gray in the main dance area put on a great set of hard thumping, Industrial music (trancy, gothic, rock with very hard beats).  Well it just gets under your skin and you can’t stand still if you don't want to dance to this you are already dead!  The music just kept getting better and better and it was hard to drag ourselves away at 4am.

A great night out said hello to many people we know even bumped into someone we had not seen for 12 years. I know I had a good time because I can hardly walk today my feet are hurting so much and my voice has almost gone so it must have been a real good night!!
